Quarantine/Pass-time tag

1. How has your day been?
It was okay, all things considered. I slept late as always because now I’m constantly even more tired than usual, and did only little uni work, but I picked up my shopping and baked cake and then took 40 minutes to give it to 4 next-door neighbors (with 1m distance, of course) because everyone’s quite chatty atm. Still waiting for the antidepressants to truly start working, but I’ll get there.
A friend low-key complained about stuff on her house building site going very slowly now ofc and immediately said it’s complaining on a high comfort level, and I agree. I’m thankful we’re being hit relatively low compared to other countries.
2. What’s the last thing that made you smile?
My dumbass cat playing with the valerian bag I made her (counting days until she rips it apart… gotta make the next one out of denim).

3. What’s keeping you entertained these days?
Uni stuff, although I’m not quite nailing this self-studying yet. Also tumblr, my cats, duolingo (hello owl, I know I still need to do the lessons, shut it), I’m trying to read a few pages of my current book at least but somehow it’s hard, cooking, baking, Netflix, walking the neighbor’s dog, skyping with friends. binge-listening to old and new songs. Also Animal Crossing: New Leaf, because my sister bought it like three weeks ago so yk what that means: I moved into her town and bother her by putting traps around her house or sending her moldy fruit in letters. She puts garbage cans in front of my house and steals my flowers.
4. If you are in some kind of self-isolation/quarantine, is there anything you’d like to achive in this time?
No. Originally I thought, oh, this is the perfect time to do this and this and this and this and….. but yk. Then I saw ppl saying we’re in a worldwide pandemic, not a competition to learn a new language and lose 10kg and all those goals “influencers” are promoting now.
I just wanna stay healthy, hope this passes soon without causing any more damage than absolutely can’t be avoided, and dye my hair in all the colors I can find that my friends don’t approve of because they’re whiny babies (”but your hair is so beautiful! and blonde!! you won’t ever get it out again!!!” I know thanks) and eventually cut it short, like no longer than shoulders and also in a wlw style (”but short hair doesn’t fit your face….” you’d never say that to any man ever and also idc now’s the perfect time to try things with my hair since I’m only out for walks and grocery shopping and also I can’t be bothered to give a rat’s ass anymore if people think it looks shit). Also I wear a lot of ill-fitting clothes - today’s grocery shopping outfit: neon pink shoes, black tights under red short pants, blue/yellow/white flower-ish button up/blouse thing, and the blue cotton jacket I steal from my sister because it’s more comfortable than my jacket. Also neon pink/slowly fading at the hairline hair. Loving it.

Oh! The day before the lockdown was announced, my friend, my sister and I went hiking - really glad I went bc I didn’t want to bc it was In The Morning, and my friend took a picture of me that’s maybe the first decent one of me in ages!
I feel like this has some wlw energy and I love it.

Finally, my dog Susi, who passed away in Spring 2014. Somewhere, she is chasing cats and stealing their food now 💜

Today, it took me 40 minutes to take cake over to four (4) next-door neighbors. Gotta love chatty neighbors in these times. My cat followed me around to all four of them, tried to get in through one’s door, actually went into my aunt’s house, and sneaked a peek in the last neighbors’ house to see if their cat could come out to play. It was also I think the first time I properly talked to my aunt since her and my mother had their big fight. Felt quite nice, really.

if now during the quarantine you have stopped wearing make up and shaving because 'nobody's going to see it anyways' maybe it's time to admit that you never did those things 'for yourself' in the first place and that it has always been about the pressure that society puts on women to conform to a certain standard of what is considered beautiful or desirable
